Frequently Asked Questions

“I have children around the house. Do I have to take any precautions?”

Naturally, we’d like to keep your children out of the rooms and areas where our Technician is working. And, if we apply any liquid sprays, you should keep them away from treated areas until dry.

What about our pets?”

The same precautions that apply to children should be taken for your pets. However, if you have birds, tropical fish, or other exotic pets, let us know in case other special precautions are necessary.

“What about our plants?”

Our inspections and treatments will not harm plants. Plants, however, can be the source of pest problems. If you have any plants like a vegetable garden you don’t want us to treat, just let us know. We’ll use IPM to create a strategy that solves your problem without the use of a pesticides in that area.

“Do you have to treat every room?”

No, that is what IPM is all about. Sometimes it makes no sense to treat only the outside or to treat limited areas inside the home. It really depends on a variety of factors, such as: what kind of pest, the type of structure, environmental factors and so on. Our licensed Service Technician will only treat when all safety requirements have been met and a proper solution to your pest problem can be achieved.

“How often will Jeff The Bug Guy be coming out for regular service?”

Under our General Pest Protection Plan we will be out once every other month. This lets us keep ahead of the changes in your home’s environment and outdoor weather factors as well as helping to prevent the pests that tend to accompany those changes.

“What if I see a bug again?”

No problem. Just call our office and we’ll be right out. NO CHARGE, of course, for covered pests.

“What pests are covered?”

The most common pests that bother homeowners are covered. We have included a wide range of insects that we have found from experience to be the most troublesome to our clients. It should be noted that termites, bed bugs, mosquitos, and clean-outs for roaches and rodents are not covered. We have separate programs for them.

“Are there any odors to worry about?”

Not usually. Most of the materials we use are odorless and have no noxious fumes. However some do have a slight odor, similar to common household cleaners and will dissipate quickly. If you are sensitive to odors let us know and we can alter your treatment.

“Will I have to do anything else?”

Nope, just sign up for Jeff The Bug Guy’s General Pest Protection Plan and we will do the rest! We will notify you prior to each visit, keep all the records, and send the best trained Service Technicians in the industry. Of course, there are lots of things you can do to help “pest proof” your home to ensure maximum effectiveness. Cleaning up food spills right away and closing up places where pests can get in are just a few examples. Your Service Technician has plenty of other helpful tips that can help keep your home pest free. Remember, there is no such thing as a silly question when it comes to protecting your family and home. Just ask!

“What if you cant get rid of my pests?”

This rarely happens because we always perform a thorough inspection of your home before we begin any treatment. During this inspection if we encounter a problem that is out of our ability, and we don’t feel we would be able to effectively solve your problem we will tell you then. Usually we can recommend another company or solution to any problem we can’t handle ourselves. If we start treatments and cannot resolve your pest problem in an effective and timely manner, we will give you a full refund. We have a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee!
